Students
with disabilities to study in France this summer.
March 5, 2004
DETROIT - Wayne State University recently announced an
interdisciplinary
three-week study abroad program for students with disabilities
and/or
students interested in the disability field.
The setting for the course is the 1,000-year old Abbey
in Pontlevoy, France
in the Loire Valley. A resident campus with its own moat,
guard tower,
gothic cathedral and lush gardens, the Abbey is a new
school of thought in
global learning. Pontlevoy is less than 30 kilometers
from the three great
chateaux of the valley: Chambord, Chenonceau and Cheverney
and just a
two-hour train ride from France's capital, Paris.
The cost for the program is approximately$3,300. Cost
includes international
airfare, tuition, fees, lodging at the university dormitory,
and a daily
lunch. Students are encouraged to apply for a grant offered
through the
Study Abroad and Global Programs Office to support participation
in study
programs outside of the U.S. to offset some expenses.
The application for
aid can be accessed at www.studyabroad.wayne.edu

Abroad Link.
